Ne tako davno BiH je bila utočište dobrovoljaca različitih ideologija koji su ratovali za sve tri zaraćene strane.
Najviše pažnje istraživača, medija i političara su privukli strani muslimanski dobrovoljci “afro-azijskog porijekla”, dok je, sa druge strane, jako malo istraživanja urađeno o dobrovoljcima na hrvatskoj i srpskoj strani koji su svoju ideologiju temeljili na kršćanstvu ili neonacizmu.
Dr. Hikmet Karčić je istraživao ovu tematiku i rezultate do kojih je došao je predstavio na prošlosedmičnom skupu “Savremeni radikalni desničarski populizam i islamofobija: izazov za liberalnu demokratiju” koji je održan na Fakultetu političkih nauka Univerziteta u Sarajevu.
